An Up and Down Weekend for Moose Riders

(Alex Ray)

It was a mixed bag of race results for the Moose Racing Team this past weekend.  Our semi attended Round 5 of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series.  We had a prime spot on vendor row which afforded us a massive amount of traffic and a lot of interest in our newest product offerings.  Fans who stopped by were also treated to free stickers and catalogs.

On the track, it was a tough weekend for the Cycle Trader Rock River Yamaha Motorsport Team.  Alex Ray made his 5th main event in a row and finished the night in 17th overall in the Premier Supercross Class.  Bradley Taft started off the day by running the 9th fastest qualifying time, but during his qualifying race he suffered a crash and would hurt his shoulder sending him to the LCQ.  In that race he was running in 4th and had a chance to move on to the night program, but another crash would end his day.

Round 1 of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series Presented by Moose Racing saw chilly conditions on Friday that turned into warmer, but rainier ones for Sunday’s program.  This made for tough conditions in the sandy South Carolina soil and most riders struggled to see through their goggles because of the visibility.

The KR4 Arrive-N-Ride Husqvarna Team was led by Cory Buttrick who had some impressive test results and finished his day in the 5th overall position.  After the race Buttrick was quoted as saying, “I’m ready for the next one and we know what we have to do to get our Husqvarna on the box”.  Tayla Jones had her hands full all day with MacKenzie Tricker in the Women’s Elite Class and would end up in the runner-up position.  It’s not a place Jones is used to being in, but we know she will be battling hard at the next round.
