The Kenda Tennessee Knockout Enduro Presented by Moose Racing has quickly become known as one of the most extreme offroad races in the U.S., if not the world. The AMA Trials Training Center in Sequatchie, TN hosts the four-round format and brings in the best riders on the planet. Beta USA’s Jordan Ashburn, who is a Tennessee native, was looking to make some noise and secure a spot on the final podium. He posted the third fastest time in the second round which narrowed the field from 56 riders down to 25.
Round 3 brought a five rider head-to-head format which he won putting him on the front row for the final test. The main event moved back to the short course and a 30-minute plus one lap battle. After nearly 40 minutes of racing, Ashburn would end up in 5th position overall which is no small feat considering the field. Female rider Brooke Cosner was also on hand, but could not participate due to a series of mechanical issues with her bike. This did not stop her from utilizing her time well as she spent time with fans at the Moose Racing semi.
Phil Nicoletti made his return to AMA Motocross action at Unadilla over the weekend and joined a talented field of riders who battled each other along with Mother Nature the entire day. Both motos were shortened due to rainy conditions and it got worse as the day wore on. Nicoletti finished 12th in the first moto and 18th in the second putting him 16th overall for the day.
Switching gears to the European GP circuit, Moose Racing and KEMEA Yamaha were represented well at the Frauenfeld circuit in Switzerland. The last few races for premier rider Benoit Paturel have been frustrating as he has narrowly missed the podium on a number of occasions. The likeable French rider didn’t let that deter his efforts, put his head down and propelled moto finishes of 2-1 for his first ever GP win!
