The state of Michigan played host to a couple of different race series over the weekend and the both produced outstanding results for Moose Racing. The Wiseco ATV MX National Championship Series paid a visit to the famous Red Bud Track & Trail facility in Buchanan, MI for Round 9. Picture perfect weather greeted racers and fans and everything set up for a great event. Walsh Racecraft Honda’s Parker Wewerka came into the race having visited the podium in every round this year, was looking to finish things off by claiming a Pro Am National Championship and that is exactly what he did.
Wewerka has not only been running at the top of the Pro Am Class all year, he has also been giving the top Pro riders all they can handle and this weekend was no exception. He parlayed 7-8 moto results into a 7th place overall finish which cemented his standing as the top Pro rookie in 2017 and he will look to finish things off strong at the last race on August 12th and 13th when the series wraps up at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Tennessee.
The annual running of the Jack Pine Enduro also took place in Michigan over the weekend. This event regularly makes an appearance on the National Enduro Series circuit, but this year did not. That didn’t stop a star-studded field from contesting it and Moose Racing was well represented. When the dust settled it was one of our sales reps, Corey Parlin, who took the overall with Airgroup Husqvarna’s Tyler Vore posting a 2nd place result. Also in the field was the legendary Jeff Fredette who piloted his Kawasaki to 1st in the A 30+ Class and 6th overall.
