This past weekend featured racing from all over the nation and it included a number of different series and venues. While the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series made its annual stop at Century Link Field in Seattle, WA, there were also notable events out west that included Moose Racing sponsored riders and a big AMA AMSOIL GNCC round in Morganton, NC.
Leading off the action was the AMA Snow Bike Championship Series which paid a visit to the Bogus Basin Ski Resort just outside of Boise, ID. This is the second year the series has been here and the racers love the course which features ideal conditions around an elevation of 6,000 feet. Moose Racing’s Jimmy Jarrett has been contending the series all year and was able to finally find his way to the top of the podium taking the overall win! The series is winding down as the weather warms, but there is sure to be more action as riders settle in for the wildly competitive stretch run.
Steele Creek Raceway in Morganton, NC is a regular stop on the GNCC slate so it was no surprise that Round 4 was well attended by racers and fans. Our factory semi was on hand and located on vendor’s row where we had displays on hand showcasing our latest products and giving away free stickers and catalogs. As everyone’s attention turned towards the track, it was a number of Moose Racing sponsored riders who secured good finishes in early season action.
In the XC1 Pro Bike Class, Beta rider Jordan Ashburn turned in another solid performance with a 6th place overall finish. He was joined in the top 10 by KR4 Husqvarna Racing’s Grant Baylor who finished 9th. The XC2 bikes saw another Beta rider, Drew Higgins crack the top 10 with a 7th overall. A new class for this year is XC3 which features 125cc two-stroke bikes. A pair of Husqvarna riders made a visit to the big box with Jason Thomas in 2nd and Hunter Neuwirth in 3rd.
Adam McGill continued his march to a potential overall championship in XC1 Pro ATV with a 2nd place overall finish. He was joined in the top 10 by Marty Christofferson who placed 7th and Randy Hamilton who rounded out the top 10. The AMSOIL GNCC Series will take a week off for the Easter holiday and then will resume action next week with the short drive to South Carolina for Round 5.
